Hi,
I have a Windows Server 2003 with WMS successfully installed and running.
On this server I have a number of physical disks
Through the WMS app. I have only added a single folder on a specific drive which contains the content I like to share with my LG BD390.
But... To my surprise... when I open WMP 11 on a client machine in my network running Windows 7 I can see the WMS as a separate library (still in trial period) and even more worse, the WMS library shows me the content of all media files on the server!
I haven't shared any folders at all through Windows Server 2003.
The server acts as a file server (however no role added) in the domain I have (it's not the domain controller)
Why is WMS showing WMP 11 all media files (on all drives) from the server even if they are not shared?
Everything else works just great and I'm evaluating WMS since it was capable to be installed on the server and that it (hopefully) won't transcode media when it's distributed to the LG BD390 player.
(If I could I wouldn't like to have any DLNA server installed but I couldn't get a simple share to work with BD390 (it works great in XP and Windows 7 but not on the server version which I don't know the reason behind)
If the above can be addressed I'm definately a candidate of buying a license! Great application!
Thanks
Talon

Hi,
Perhaps you've enabled folder "My Computer" (Settings - "Media-resources")Talon wrote:

I'm sorry but I don't understand.
As I understand there isn't such setting in Windows Server 2003 (at least I haven't found it)
My Computer (in Windows Explorer), Settings (no such alternative), Media-Resources (no such alternative found)
Thanks anyway for trying

Re: WMP 11 shows everything through WMS even if it's not shared
Thankyou,
I de-selected "Local Drives" in WMS - Settings - My Computer - Media-Resources
May I suggest you to not pre-select this checkbox in the installation because in my opinion this overrides the settings I choose (adding folders) in the above "Folder List"
It's easy when you know how the application works...
Thanks
