Hi,
I just installed WMS on an XP-SP3 PC and I'm streaming to a WD TV Live.
I have a few questions:
1. I added a few DVD movies, my file structure is " Movies\Action\Armageddon\VIDEO_TS\<.VOB files> (and also AUDIO_TS at the same level of VIDEOTS folder)
Now, what i see from the WD TV Live is that for every movie I have all the VOB files listed! For example, instead of seeing
"Armageddon", I see Armageddon\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.VOB
Armageddon\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS_1.VOB
Armageddon\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS_2.VOB" etc etc
Is this normal ? is there a way to just see the Movie name ?
2. I cannot see any subtitle, in both DVD (self contained) or external (.srt)
i read somewhere else in the forum that you cannot display external subs via DLNA if you do not transcode the video.
that means the only way to visualize subtitle is to transcode a video, even if the target device supports that video natively ? (kind of a bummer).
Thanks for any help/response you may provide.

Re: newbie: Movie file names & Subtitiles
Hi,
DVD in the usual form, unfortunately, can not see. This technology does not support this. If you do not turn on "Always use a file name as the name of the media resource", the name should be "Armageddon - VTS_01_1.VOB". You can turn on "Creating folders DVD-structure for DVD-directories" (Settings-Media-Resources-Scanning), but it still will not accustomed DVD.stoca01 wrote: I just installed WMS on an XP-SP3 PC and I'm streaming to a WD TV Live.

The server must inform the device that have subtitles, and the device to read this information. Standard for the transmission of this information is not. In the Samsung TV has its own support for subtitles, so they can transmit. For WD TV Live and many other devices, no such possibility.stoca01 wrote: 2. Re: newbie: Movie file names & Subtitiles
I also use the WD HDTV Live. So when I want to see subtitle in the DVD-movie I have to watch it by the Transcode-folder, or enable the 'always transcode when subtitles are found'.Eugene wrote:The server must inform the device that have subtitles, and the device to read this information. Please help me out, what transcode-profile is the best to use and how can I put subtitles in there then. Do I use the transcode profile Movie Primary, of Movie Tmuxer, or ??? And the subtitle comes in there by itself?
Sorry for those Noob-questions, but I tried some but it is not working for me

Re: newbie: Movie file names & Subtitiles
Should be used transcoding profile "Movies (primary)". Subtitles can be selected in the main form of the program (track list) on right button mouse or when you select playing through a Transcoding folder in the folder Settings of the film.Leon wrote:I also use the WD HDTV Live. Re: newbie: Movie file names & Subtitiles
Well, that worked!
But it is a lot of searching which exact file I have to open. I now converted my DVD's to the MKV-container, and I think that is a lot easier. I now don't have to transcode them but can use the original mkv filt through WMS and I can select the different subtitles and languages.
Cheers!
