Folder Service-Media Database-Enter Password - interval between the choice of numbers 2-3 seconds

I already tried via this menu.

There is also an option above numbers, but it is russian (not traducted in english). I dont know if this is for resetting password entry or validate. I tried both option, beginning by clicking on this then the four numbers of my password, or beginning by the four numbers then this option... Without any success...

I see a "green ticker" after each choice of a number... but after going back to the collection folder where one subfolder is restricted, I see only non restricted subfolders.

Is there a way to have more than 3 seconds between each number?
I have to press "return" twice then select a new number (up or down) then enter twice and TV/server are not very responsive... probably more than 3 seconds between pressing 1 and 9 for example (8 times down).

Thanks in advance

Cleaning password. If you did not make changes in the localization of the program, you can copy the language file (default.wln) from the distribution (\Program Files\Wild Media Server\DISTR\Languages\) in the directory Program Files\Wild Media Server\Languages

My actions
1. I set the password 1
2. Watch folders - Movies7 - on right click mouse "Access client devices" - turn on "Password for access..."
3. Watch folders - Movies - testmovie.mkv - on right click mouse "Access client devices" - turn on "Password for access..."
4. Click Renew - Click Restart
5. On my device - Watch folders - none Movies7 - Movies - none testmovie.mkv.
6. Service - Media Database - Enter password - 1 - chose playing 1 video.
7. Watch folders - Movies7 exists - Movies - testmovie.mkv exists.

I set the password 1234 and repeat actions - no problem.

Possible problems:
Device show 3 media-resources (video, music, image) in folder of Number and when you enter the Number folder device automatically loads image and the server believes that the Number is chosen. In this case, did not have to choose.

:!: When you install restricted access on the folder it acts only on the folder, files in this folder may be available in other folders.

I also can't get this to work.
It takes me at least 10 seconds to navigate between the digits in the password. So if there is only a short delay allowed between digits then that might be the problem, but I did try setting a password of only one digit and still couldn't get it to work.

I have checked that if I don't restrict access to the folder everything works as it should.

I am using a Sony TV, it only displays a movie in the password digit folders so it isn't requesting the image as soon as I open the folder.

What could I be doing wrong?

One other question related to passwords, in the settings -> media-resources -> service under the heading "Password for access to restricted media" there is an option of delay. What does it mean?

Oh, and thanks for a fantastic DLNA server.

You choose the video playback?

Yep.
I set a password of 6, then navigate to movies on my TV. The restricted folder is not displayed.
I then navigate to enter password, down to six, select the folder and then play the single movie that is in that folder. That displays a big tick. Return to the menu, go back to the list of folders and the restricted folder is still not displayed.

I also tried going to pictures instead of movies to enter the password but it still doesn't show the restricted folder in the movies section. I haven't tried adding a restricted pictures folder, don't know if it is likely to behave differently.

What does 0 mean?

I have tried setting this to 20 minutes but that didn't help either.

Perhaps the device caches the information, try switch off/switch on. Function clearly works, it is checked now.

I have now tried re-starting WMS, and turning off the TV. I turned the TV off at its main switch, left it off for 20 seconds or so and then tried again with a password of 1.
It still doesn't work.

I know the function works, I'm not accusing you of releasing dogdy software. (You should take a look at some of mine if you want to see dodgy. :) ) I'm pretty sure this is going to be the TV being odd in some way and I appreciate your help getting it working. Would it be any help if I enabled advanced or debug logging and saved the log out at key points in my entering of the password and e-mail them to you? More importantly are you okay to wade through that much log file? I did take a quick look myself but I know next to nothing about UPnP / DLNA so I don't really know what I am looking for. If you prefer you can try giving me some pointers about what I should look for to see if the TV is requesting one of the password digit movies, then I could take a look through the log file and see if the TV either requests the movie too early or never requests it.

(Did you know that Wild Media Server is the ONLY windows based DLNA server I have found that works with my Sony TV? Not actaully relevent but thought you might like to know, it also shows just how fussy / odd the Sony TV is)
