Thanks, I could repeat the problem only if I disable reading file properties.

No problems in default settings, try right click - "Load file properties" - Create thumbnail.

But did it create the thumbnail?

I can do those step and I don't get an error, however it does not create a thumbnail. It must be swallowing the exception somewhere in the code.

Still no success!

Problem on:
Windows Home Server (based on Server 2003 32bit)
Windows Home Server 2011 (based on Server 2008R2 64bit)

With the SAME movie files NO problem on:
Windows 7

What i have tried on both home servers:

- installing K-Lite Codes Pack (32 and 64 bit)

- installing VLC

-Settings - Transcoder - Profiles - Movies (primary) - Edit - Transcoding parameters - right click - "Select All" - Delete --> Error message that there have to be parameters, can not delete!

- change the ffmpeg-1.dll from 1.08.02 to 1.05.01 --> worked on Home Server 2003!!!

- change the ffmpeg-1.dll from 1.08.02 to 1.05.01 --> I don´t have the dll anymore!!!

Can you post the old dll from 1.05.01 anywhere to test this with the new Home Server 2011???

I have already purchased 3 licenses for my TVs!

I just tested the 1.05.1 ffmpeg-1.dll on my Win 2008 R2 server and WAS able to create thumbnails. Using any 1.08.xx version of the .dll I cannot create thumbnails.

I reproduced the problem (with thumbnail) on "Windows Home Server 2011". I will try to fix.

Script "Create thumbnail"
createthumbnail.zip
(1.8 KiB) Downloaded 556 times
1. Unzip
2. Settings - Processing - Load - createthumbnail.cfg - Clear ... ? No - Ok - Ok.
3. List [Movies] - select a file(s) - click "Create thumbnail"
