Hi,
When I play a transcoding movie it stops after about 17 minutes. Any reason for this?
Thanks.

Re: Movie playing time
Hi,
Samsung in format MPEG (DVD) read only 1 GB (the size of vob-file)

Re: Movie playing time
Eugene,
Movie lasted about 30 minutes this time with the parameters you listed. Actual movie is about 2 hours. The source file is a single vob about 6gb in size.
Thanks.

Re: Movie playing time
With the use of test transcoding, check that the output format mpegts. If the connection is WiFi, then the problem may be associated with this.maybury wrote: Movie lasted about 30 minutes this time with the parameters you listed. Actual movie is about 2 hours. Re: Movie playing time
Eugene,
Checked output and it is mpegts. I am running over wi-fi between the LCD and the router the PC is wired to the router. Don't seem to have this issue with non-transcode movies.
Is it possible to save a movie that has been "transcoded" for later play back?
The problem that I'm trying to solve is that I can extract a movie into a single vob file that plays back on the Samsung but the aspect is wrong. Using WMS does solve this problem but only when transcoding.
Thanks for your help.

Are you sure that playing more than 1 GB ?maybury wrote: The problem that I'm trying to solve is that I can extract a movie into a single vob file that plays back on the Samsung but the aspect is wrong.
Re: Movie playing time
Eugene,
I'm way out of my depth now! I really have no idea how to do what you are asking me to try. Sorry.
I'll try the same vob file that seemed to time out with WMS on the Samsung server and see if I get the same timing problem.
Thanks again.

Re: Movie playing time
Eugene,
Managed to make the changes you suggested. Hit shift 3 and got an error message about not having an input directory specified. Put an input directory in and hit shift 3 but nothing happened as far as I can see.
What should I be doing once I have implimented the changes?
Cheers.

Re: Movie playing time
Use Pre transcoding (file), not Pre transcoding (directory). Add the directory Pre transcoding files to the list of directories media resources, to avoid losing files after scanning.maybury wrote: Managed to make the changes you suggested. Re: Movie playing time
Eugene,
Made the correct changes and it works really well, produces exactly what I want, thanks.
Is it possible to select a specific audio stream like DTS 5.1 or Dolby 5.1?
Can you transcode just the main movie direct from a DVD?
Cheers.
