Up until the last few days I have used Wild media server without issue.
However I recently changed broadband provider and as a result ended up with a different router.
I now cannot see the Wild media server but network shares work fine.
The media server is necessary for me to play high bitrate files.
Intermittently I can see the server but as soon as I switch the WDLive off and then on again it is no longer connected.
The router is a BT Home hub 2.
Anybody got any ideas?
Server not visible on WD Live
Re: Server not visible on WD Live
If restarting the server solves this problem, then WDTV Live no access to computers via UDP (port 1900)scamartist wrote:Up until the last few days I have used Wild media server without issue.

Hi Eugene.
Could you explain what you mean with more detail.
Will I need to change the port on the server settings and open port 1900 on the router?

Re: Server not visible on WD Live
I have disabled all firewalls.
Forwarded port 1900 to my pc.
I can take some screen grabs to show what I have done if it would help.
Still not showing as available on the WD Live.
I think its something to do with the router config possibly in how it assigns IP's or the UPnP as it worked fine on my old Netgear router and thats the only thing thats changed.
I've seen some posts on other sites saying people have had issues with media servers and this new router.
Any other suggestions would be very welcome.
Other than this issue Wild media server has been fantastic and I'd recommend it to anyone, just not those with the Home hub 2 router

Re: Server not visible on WD Live
Managed to sort out a workaround for the issue.
Have bypassed the router by running a cat5 cable from motherboards secondary LAN port to homeplug to WD Live.
This has bypassed the router and everything seems to be working fine now.
Some sort of issue with the new BT Home Hub 2, possibly UPnP related.
I've wasted enough time on it anyway, hope this might help others in same situation.
