Hi folks,
I've recently bought a Sony BDP S470 to stream media from my pc.
I'm having a fairly odd issue in that detection of the server is 'flakey' somewhat.
Sometimes the BDP unit decides that it can't see the server and sometimes it can (more often than not, it can't.)
I'm running a trial copy of the latest Wild Media Server on Windows 7.
I've found that sometimes if I reboot and start the server up, the streamer can see it. If I try to restart the service, it can no longer connect.
I have no firewalls enabled at the time that would prevent access between the server and the streamer.
Has anyone experienced similar issues? Windows Media Service seemed to work OK but it obviously doesn't support MKV.
BDP S470 cannot see server
Re: BDP S470 cannot see server
Same issue here. I have the Sony Bravia EX308 or something along those lines, too lazy to look at the number of the tv.
Media Server worked great till about two days ago, no it doesn't show up on tv.

Re: BDP S470 cannot see server
Hi,
I've tried settings this to a few ports between 1024 and 65535 and I've had no success.
I've tried running this on both Server 2008 and Windows 7.
I've even disabled Windows firewall but I've still not had any success.
I'm on M04.R.624. The BDP can connect fine to the internet and I can ping it from my media server.

Re: BDP S470 cannot see server
It doesn't appear when I do a search.
Both lists are empty and should allow all connections..

Re: BDP S470 cannot see server
Most probably problems with the network protection.Ash wrote:It doesn't appear when I do a search.

Re: BDP S470 cannot see server
I don't see how when the only firewall on the machine is turned off. IP connectivity is fine.
Re: BDP S470 cannot see server
Except the programs of network security, other sources of problems no.Ash wrote:I don't see how when the only firewall on the machine is turned off. IP connectivity is fine.
