Hi
Im running a sony bravia KDL-32W5810 TV, Windows 7 PC and a Netgear WPN824v2 router
I'm in the 15 day trial period, when I run WMS 1.2 every thing works fine but loging on is VERY HIT & MISS.
When I upgrade to any of the WMS ver 1.2103, 1.3104.3, 104.3104 or 104.41045 (file names)
The prog logs on perfectly every time but when I try to run a video file all I get on the TV is a huge full screen icon of a green button with a white tick on it.
I love the program but I need help to sort this problem out before I can commit to buy.

Hi Eugene
I’ve completed more tests and find I can run up to ver 1.3 and get constant logins and pic music and videos
But I have to tell WMS to search the network to find the TV if the TV has been turned off.
From version 1.4 up I get
In the sony TV home button menu If I select the WMS video folder all movies with no transcoding I get “Play back not available”
Then into the transcoding folder using any of the transcoding methods, the program appears to start transcoding, I get the file info at the top of the screen with the sony hourglass rotating then it freezes and I get a huge full screen icon of a button with a green tick on it.

Hi,
Start - All programs - Wild Media Server - Wild Media Server (UPnP, DLNA, HTTP) - on right click mouse "Properties" - Compatibility - turn on "Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP"
Try start in Windows XP mode.YamFazMan wrote: I’ve completed more tests and find I can run up to ver 1.3 and get constant logins and pic music and videos

I think you have chosen transcoding profile, the Green button for confirmation of this choiceYamFazMan wrote: Then into the transcoding folder using any of the transcoding methods, the program appears to start transcoding, I get the file info at the top of the screen with the sony hourglass rotating then it freezes and I get a huge full screen icon of a button with a green tick on it.
Re: A Big Green Tick
Hi Eugne
First the good news.
We appear to be homing in on the problem:-
When WMS is running in Windows7 in XP Compatibility Mode (as you suggested), WMS works perfectly right up to ver 1.04.5.
I can run videos none transcoded all be it with a slight audio/video stutter.
Then when I move to the transcoding mode the audio/video is perfect.
So it looks like a Win7 or a Win7 server glitch.
The problem were I have to tell WMS to search the network to find the TV if the TV has been turned off still persists, so if the TV is off I have to restart WMS.
Whichever of the server options on the Sony you use the TV reports it can’t find the server.
Perhaps the guys with Sonys on forum who can’t run the latest versions are running Win7 as well ???
You were correct the green tick was coming from the “ All Profiles” option on your menu system .
Because the video files were not running I was moving deeper & deeper into the prog.

If I understand the problem. Settings-Server-Port - set a permanent port from 1024 to 65535YamFazMan wrote: The problem were I have to tell WMS to search the network to find the TV if the TV has been turned off still persists, so if the TV is off I have to restart WMS.
