Subtitle style

Post by S@gittarius »

Hi Eugene,
I searched through WMS options and the forum as well but found nothing about subtitles' style tags.
For example SRT format supports BOLD, ITALIC etc. but the style is not applied.
Style tags are visible as subtitle text instead.

Regards!

Tags <b>BOLD</b>, <i>ITALIC</i> and subtitles module removes tags.
How srt-tags help the purpose of subtitles?

SSA, ASS subtitles can be rendered with libass module (Settings - Devices - choose a device - Settings - "Files, subtitles" - turn on "Use external subtitles module ssa, ass").

Hi.
For the sake of readability one would consider styles as redundant.
Personally I don't mind them but often come across subtitles (mainly SubRip) containing tags. In this case I have to remove them because they are visible as {...} text.
Anyway, is it possible to make styles visible and an on/off option for this?

Regards!

If the authors of the subtitles do not comply with the standard (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SubRip), then no.
