Re: Quick transcoding question
Yes it was running as a service. I've just turned off the "Install Windows service" option, and am now running it manually again. But it has made no difference. Also, if I switch it to "Show transcoder console window", that doesn't work either, no command window opens when any me...

Re: Sony blu-ray players: BDP-S370 & MKV Playback
Hi Eugene, just curious as to why you would make such a statement. Via USB my S370 has played every mkv file I've thrown at, including 1080p mkv encodes up to 16GB in size. To me that would that would suggest its mkv support is rather good.Eugene wrote:In my experience, the player supports mkv very weak

Re: Quick transcoding question
Thanks Eugene that did the trick. Another strange question. It seems the "transcoder console window" doesn't work on Windows 2008 R2, any idea why? It works on Windows 7, but now I've got WMS running on Windows 2008 R2, and with the same settings, the "transcoder console window" ...

Re: Quick transcoding question
Thanks, exactly what I was looking for.
Another quick question, can the main menu be changed at all? Eg, the top menus called "Movies", "Music" and "Photo", can those names be changed or hidden?

Re: Quick transcoding question
My question isn't about what device can play what media.
My question is how do I know if the media I am playing is streaming without any transcoding? Or better still, how can I disable transcoding completely? Does Wild Media Server have such an option?

Re: Quick transcoding question
Thanks Eugene, I have installed the trial version and am using it at present. But using the program doesn't answer the question I have, so I was hoping someone could answer it here. Maybe I should email support?
Cheers,
Zolt

Re: Quick transcoding question
I'm sorry I don't understand the answer.
Before I look at purchasing the software, I want to check if I can stream my content unaltered.
Are you saying that if the file extension is listed in the "Embedded file support" dialog box, then the transcoding ignores it?

Quick transcoding question
If playing media through the menu structure such as:
"Wild media Server" -> "Movies" -> "All Movies" -> "example.mkv"
I assume no transcoding takes place? Is that correct, the media is just being streamed directly?
Cheers,
Zolt
