Hi,

I am having trouble getting DVR-MS files to transcode. I use the Movies-DirectShow-WTV(MPEG-TS) profile, with extension/file-type set to mpg. In the command window that opens when I try a test I get:

[mpeg2video @ 0026caa0] mpeg_decode_postinit() failure
Last message repeated 2 times
[asf @ 00269c40] max_analyze_duration reached

end then in the end I get:

Codec type mismatch for mapping #0.1 -> #0.0

Help would be appreciated. I am using the latest build.
Try use the transcoding profile "Movies (primary)"

Tried that, same result. Tried some others too, get the same result:

FFmpeg version SVN-r25702, Copyright (c) 2000-2010 the FFmpeg developers
built on Nov 24 2010 13:41:21 with gcc 4.5.0
[mpeg2video @ 00930c60] mpeg_decode_postinit() failure
Last message repeated 8 times
[asf @ 0090be30] max_analyze_duration reached

So it looks like a problem somewhere in ffmpeg.

The problem may be in the file

Strange: if I test-transcode an mpg file, I get the same errors, but the file gets transcoded anyway.

I just discovered: the files that will not play have no sound codec listed. If you click on the + in the list of films it shows separate audio and video. The older sample files that came with windows still have MP2 codec listed, but with my own recordings the audio codec is empty. THese file do not transcode. Some files have MP3 audio codec listed, these do not transcode either. So only DVR-MS files that have mp2 audio get transcoded.

I just tried a new install on a different PC (win7), but still having the same problem. I only installed wms. Should I install something else?
