In the list of music on the right-button mouse, try to choose transcoding profile "Music (WAV-DTS)"

Try watching them through folder Transcoding or in list of films set transcoding profile "Movies (Primary)"

Folder "Internet-television", in the list of films on the right mouse button "Add link ...", for transcoding requires VLC (http://www.videolan.org). The path to the installation directory: Settings - Media-Resources - Internet-resources.
List of online video services (Youtube, Hulu ,...) in future versions. Now they can connect, but requires some knowledge of the user.

Does it matter if I use a portable version of VLC?

Yes, it is important. The original profiles using VLC will not work.
