Issues with large files

Post by hepple »

Hi, wms works really well but I've got a strange problem.

I've got a number of large Mkv files (10gb+) that play fine on my wdhdtv devices but stutter on my Samsung tv. I've tried changing the Mkv to a .ts file manually and it works better. However when checking the pc, it does not seem busy. CPU <50%, memory 4gb free out of 8gb, disk use <5% - disks are 1x1.5gb o/s drive and 4x2gb raid 5 with the data/video.

I've been considering converting the entire collection to be the same format .ts but am unsure.

Is the wired 100mb network connection enough for huge mkv's?

What could be causing this?

I think that this can be solved out by increasing temporary file size settings in WMS. Be sure you have enough free space on your hdd.
