Playback of ripped dvd's with DTS soundtrack off hard drive

Thanks for your reply. I've attempted to do that, but it has not worked. Is there some setting or file association that needs to be set? I'm assuming dts audio track would need to be transcoded to something the sony tv would recognize.

On the right-button mouse in the list of films you can perform a test transcoding. Transcoding works?

Hi. I did a test transcode and it appeared to be playing the file with text indicating that it was outputting it as ac3. After seeing this , I went back to the transcoding folder and tried to play the file again. When I attempted to play the file listed as "Original", it had a picture, but no sound. However, there was another file below original named "track 1" as I recall. When I played this track, or any other VOB file listed under this track, it worked and the TV display indicated an AC3 soundtrack. What was interesting was that the picture was displayed in a 4:3 window, where as the "original" folder that played with no sound was "stretched" to 16:9 by the program. Is there any way to have this concert play under the regular movie folder, or will I always have to play it thru the transcoding folder.

You can turn on the "For movies navigaton from Transcoding". (Settings-Device)
You can delete the vob-files from the list of supported (Embedded file support) (Settings-Device)
If the show is selected from the folder Original, then the file is transferred without any changes. TV cut away the dark parts of the frame. When transcoding, program complements the original frame to 16:9. If the original frame is a 16:9 in 4:3 frame, then in the movie information you can select 16:9 in the field "Frame DVD".
