Read couple of DTS threads in the forum. None of them are giving any working solution.
Eugene - Could you please help all of us who is looking for DTS by providing a clear solution. I tried all suggestions you give in other threads - like using "Movies (primary) - MPLEX", "Movies-TSMuxer" and setting "Original audio" in special settings. No matter what, the audio gets transcoded to AC3.
Please help.
Thanks

PS3 does not support DTS in DLNA-mode.ratluri wrote:Read couple of DTS threads in the forum. None of them are giving any working solution.

Re: How to make DTS audio in MKV files work on PS3?
Hi Eugene,
My PS3 is connected to Denon Receiver that supports DTS, DTS-HD and much more. Is there a way to make DTS work in my setup? Using WMS 1.12.1.
I appreciate your help.

Hi,
Settings - Devices - choose a device - Settings - Transcoder - "Codecs, frame" - turn on "Hide DTS in LPCM",
Transcoding profile "Movies - TsMuxer"

Re: How to make DTS audio in MKV files work on PS3?
Hi Eugene,
Just tried the settings you suggested. Didn't work. The file is a MKV file which has DTS audio inside it. I think for PS3, the video in this file must be transcoded. However, I would like to listen to the DTS audio inside it without transcoding it to AC3.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks

Hi,
Mkv (DTS, bitrate 768000 or 1536000) - "Movies-TsMuxer" - PS3 - receiver - no problems with sound (receiver indicator - dts)

Re: How to make DTS audio in MKV files work on PS3?
Hi Eugene,
No luck after changing the bitrate. When I try to set transcoding profile to Movies - TsMuxer in Device - PS3 - Settings - Files, Subtitles, I get data not supported error. To make this file play, I've to set transcoding profile to Primary movies 1920 x 1080 by rightclicking on the file.
I wanted to attach screenshots of my settings here but it is not allowing me to paste images into this text box as well as an attachment. I've all screenshots in a word doc. If you need them, please let me know how I can attach to these messages.
Thank you very much!

Hi
Choose a file - right click - Edit information - choose a video track - Edit - Frame rate - 15 (this will cause the video transcoding)ratluri wrote: Eugene,

Re: How to make DTS audio in MKV files work on PS3?
Hi Eugene,
It now transcodes using Movies - TsMuxer profile but I dont get any audio. I hear a loud hissing sound all through the file. The PS3 play back information says that it is playing in Linear PCM 2 ch. 48 KHz MPEG-2.
Please advice on how to proceed from here. I can show you the screenshots of my settings but I don't know how to attach them here.
Thanks
Ram

Re: How to make DTS audio in MKV files work on PS3?
Hi,
Probably receiver does not support autodetect for audio stream, "Linear PCM 2 ch" it's normal for PS3 Info.ratluri wrote:
