I've set up WMS to scan for new media once every hour. The problem is that if I'm watching a movie when the scan starts the playback stops until the scan is complete. Seems WHS is unable to both scan for new media and server files.
Server: WHS 1.0.8.2 on Windows XP SP3, AMD Phenom II X4 945 (4 x 3 GHz)
Client device: LG BD 390
Media is located on a file share on a Windows 2003 server connected to the XP PC with WHS via 1 GB LAN cable
The PC should have more than enough power to both scan and server at the same time. The same is true for the bandwidth.
I notice that in addition to "scheduled scans" there is an option for automatically scan when changes occur, does this also work on media on remote files shares?
