Registering WMS as a windows service is a very nice feature and is one of my favorites. But for security reasons I am running it under the context of a special logon account. Not a big deal except that in these conditions Windows services are not desktop interactive. So when WMS transcodes media resources the progress is not visible through Transcoding panel. Actually it’s not a problem at all and is something we can live without. But making WMS’s service interactive in these conditions would be a very nice touch. Microsoft has plenty of guidelines in its technet library how to achieve that.
