I have enabled exclusion of empty directories, but I still see Podcasts (and others) directories on my TV set.
I am only sharing music and films, nothing more.
How to make all other directories disappear?
Second question is related to collections - I tried to add subdirectories to collection, but it looks it's not possible.
It seems one can only add some files, but not directories.
Can you please confirm?
Collections and excluding empty directories
Re: Collections and excluding empty directories
Settings - Server - choose a device - Edit - Settings - "Exclude empty folders"ironman wrote:I have enabled exclusion of empty directories, but I still see Podcasts (and others) directories on my TV set.
Folders [Movies] - select any folder - right click - "Structure of media-resources" - select a folder - right click - "Hide folder"ironman wrote: I am only sharing music and films, nothing more.

1. Folders allow you to add subfolders and collections.ironman wrote: Second question is related to collections - I tried to add subdirectories to collection, but it looks it's not possible.

2. You can drag & drop folder from "Media resources folders" to the folder "Collections"

Hi Eugene.Eugene wrote:Settings - Server - choose a device - Edit - Settings - "Exclude empty folders"
Like I wrote, I had it selected, but it still didn't stop exporting some folders to TV.
Thanks!Eugene wrote:Folders [Movies] - select any folder - right click - "Structure of media-resources" - select a folder - right click - "Hide folder"
That did the trick

That's the problem - I can'tEugene wrote: 1. Folders allow you to add subfolders and collections.

I have created "TV series" under Collections and I can't drag folder from "Media resources folders" into there...
I can drag the file (from the window on the right), but not the directory (from the window on the left).
I can move directory from "Media resource folders" directly into "Collections" but I can't into "TV Series", sitting under Collections.
I am also having some strange problem with movie playback stopping after few minutes - made few tests around network and most likely it seems not to be network related.
However my network setup is quite complicated, utilizing some Devolo (powerline) devices and having 2 UPNP router devices on the network, so I will do final test tonight connecting TV and PC with cross cable.
I could google for some problems with same series of TV sets (Sony's Bravia EX500) and other media servers, which were fixed by some patching of media server.
Occasionaly I am also getting some appcrash from ffmpeg module (using Windows Vista 64-bit), it may be related (time wise) with movie playback pausing on my TV.

Even with TV patched directly to PC, same problem happens.
It happens for both AVI and MKVs, movie randomly "freezing" after 15, 20 or whatever minutes.
If I rewind and press play it goes well, until next freeze.
Any clue what I could check?
I can also give it a try and do fresh reinstall, but not sure if it helps at all

Re: Collections and excluding empty directories
On right click of the mouse in the list of movies you can perform a test transcoding, transcoding speed should be greater than the frame rate of the movie.ironman wrote:I did many tests and the network is not the problem.ironman wrote:I am also having some strange problem with movie playback stopping after few minutes - made few tests around network and most likely it seems not to be network related.

Re: Collections and excluding empty directories
It definetely is greater than frame rate.Eugene wrote:On right click of the mouse in the list of movies you can perform a test transcoding, transcoding speed should be greater than the frame rate of the movie.
With MKVs I get aprox. 40fps, for AVIs I get 400 or so.
Do you think enabling debugging could give some clue?

Re: Collections and excluding empty directories
I am not running any P2P software on this box, neither it has any firewall enabled.Eugene wrote: There may be problems due to software file-sharing networks
I will try to do fresh reinstall later today and see if it will go any better on complete defaults...
Re: Collections and excluding empty directories
Ok, it looks that reinstall (and not playing with any options
solved the freezing problem.
How about collections then?
It's seriously not possible to drag some subdirectory from "media resource folder" into any directory under Collections.
