As you can read from my first post I got MKV files working fine...How do I get it to play XVID files on my directtv HR23 box??
Must be a setting i'm missing??

Continued tweaking has led me to the following settings....
These setttings seem ideal for my Directv HR23 and could see them added to your list of preset devices....even got my xvid codec workin!
In device use SONY TV 1280X720 and change the utf-8 to TRANSIT
In Codec & Frame keep bitrate at 4,000,000
Seems when playing the XVID codec you want to check the limit min max bitrate box. You will loose the stream if this box is not checked for XVID
When playing MKV files uncheck it plays much smoother with this box unchecked
Audio MP2 and two channels...
My settings are a work in progress... These settings will get a Direct Tv HR23 box transcoding your files well
