WTV support?

Post by schomar »

Is there a way to transcode the new W7 MediaCenter *.wtv format?
Any plans on supporting this?

Now that I got WMS working on WHS, it would be great being able to watch my recorded tv in wtv format without WHS decoding it first to wmv with a lot of quality loss.

If you upload the sample file on rapidshare.com, then I will check what can be done.

Thanks.
I did a transcoding profile "Movies - DirectShow - WTV", unfortunately there are problems with audio transcoding, it will be possible to work the original sound.
wtv.zip
(2.33 KiB) Downloaded 543 times
1. Unzip
2. Settings-Transcoder-Profiles - Load - wtv.cfg - "Clear current lists ? " - No.
3. Settings - "File types" - Add
File extension: wtv
MIME-type: video/wtv
Transcoding profile: Movies - DirectShow - WTV
If you use individual settings for the device is set for wtv-files should be added there too.
4. Scanning media-resource folders.
5. In list of wtv-files on right click mouse "Test transcoding".
6. If successful, play on TV

Profile was checked on Windows 7, I do not know, it will work on WHS.

Thanks, followed all the steps, but the transcoding test gave an error.
Files are seen on my TV as well but cannot be viewed obviously.

Both. On W7 the tsMuxer.exe window opens, but then it stops
