Moved to a wireless connection

I moved my WDTV Live to another room/TV where there is no hard-wired network so I purchased a supported wireless dongle. I no longer need a license for the wired connection but I need one for the wireless dongle. How do I get a replacement license key? I'm assuming the swap is free since I can't use...

Unable to register/scan iso files

Running the latest registered version 1.04. For some reason I can not get any disk images / ISO's to appear as valid media resources. I have several legitimate ISO files within one of my media resource directories, but they do not appear within the movie media list after I scan the folder. I have tr...

Re: Extra media folders displayed

1.) Be sure to only add folders that contain the videos you wish to view. Under Settings >> Media Resources. De-select the "green button" so only movies/videos + sub folders are scanned for that particular folder. 2.) You can hide and rename folders under the main 'Movies' menu (Rt-click '...

Re: Media scanning without server restart?

I think it is necessary to solve the original problem. If you are using file-sharing network, then configure the software file-sharing network to use the temporary directory. Sorry -Which temp folder? -A WMS temp working folder or a Windows %temp% folder? I only know of the temp folder under the tr...

Media scanning without server restart?

Is all media supposed to be rescanned after performing a "server restart"? I've noticed when adding new media (movies) sometimes the incorrect length, size or other attribute is reported. This messes up the WDTV Lives ability to properly playback the file. I do a "server restart"...

Remote web based administration

Just like the title says.... I think many of us install WMS on a "secondary" machine or headless home server configuration. Yes we can use RDP / remote desktop to access WMS config, but a true web config page for basic administration would be real slick! Keep the console for low level scri...

New major release firmware available soon.... Western Digital just released a MAJOR (beta) firmware update to the "Live" series of WDTV HD media players. http://www.wdc.com/wdtvlive_prerelease/ Be warned that various WDTV forums indicate this FW is still quite buggy but it IS a Beta ... Th...

I may have fixed it ?!?! I changed and enabled the settings I have circled in red here: WMS-Settings-1.JPG I changed the "resolution?" in the WDTV Live description to 1920x1080 becase that is what the WDTV supports... Note sure exactly what those check box settings do, I was just trying th...
