How to transcode WMA music files

Hi,
My Panasonic TX-P42G20B plays MP3 files natively and I am trying to get WMA files to be transcoded to MP3.
I have just mp3 in the 'embedded file support', so I thought WMA files would automatically be transcoded to mp3?
This doesn't appear to be happening as the tv reports them as unsupported format.
Are there any other settings I need to change or set up?
