"Access violation at address" and other error messages.

Hello.

I have been trying to get WMS working with a Sony BDP-S370. So far this latest release (1.02) seems to play ok so far. Although I will need to tweak it quite a bit.

Just some feedback regarding some error messages I have seen. I have been getting a few error messages when applying transcoding profiles to Internet TV streams. e.g. the latest was "Access violation at address 42540607. Read of address 42540607".

Soon afterward I editing some stuff in Settings menu. It asked me to restart server, and I got a "Range Check Error". Maybe this one was something I acidentally clicked?

When in this state, clicking the "Restart" button I get "Invalid Pointer Operation" error every time. I have had this message on a couple of occasions. Exiting WMS and restart WMS fixes this for me.

I hope that this info might be helpful. Many thanks.

The server was running ? Server works in Windows Service mode ?

Thanks for the reply. I hadn't ticked "Installation Windows Service..." yet, so I was just manually running the program.

A few moments ago I did tick the above option, and started the Window service. But for some reason, the server doesn't show up on my player, so I unticked it and ran it manually.

I also notice when playing some TV streams, sometimes the stream starts to freeze up and so does the PC that WMS is running on. Everything on the PC slows down to a crawl and the PC is unusable until I stop playback. Again, this is when running in GUI mode. Is it better to have WMS running as a service?

If you use a firewall program, check its rules for the module wms.exe (if the server runs as a service Windows, the module wmssvc.exe)

Settings-Transcoder-Execution of transcoding-Priority-Idle
or
Settings-Transcoder-Other-turn on "Transcoding buffer"
