Song lengths not correct

Post by k10ck3r »

I am using an LG BD570 with Wild Media Server (device as PS3). Most things work great (ie: album art, thumbnails for videos, etc). However, I just noticed that the song lengths are not being reported correctly. Example: one song that is ~ 4 minutes in length is being reported as over 24 minutes long. The LG seems to get proper lengths when using other media servers (Twonky, Tversity, Nero), so hopefully it is just a simple bug to fix.

Oh, I am running the latest version (0.73.5) on a PC running Win7 32.

Ok, here's a song that is ~ 6 minutes in length, but is reported by WMS to be over 11 minutes.

download the song "1000 miles" from the following artist site:
http://www.ilike.com/artist/KlokWurk

This direct link may work: http://c.ilike.com/d/0000/667/000066714 ... +miles.mp3

Thanks

Thanks, WMS duration - 00:05:58.16, I think the device itself calculates the length by the bit rate, but in this case it is variable.

Interesting, but I'm pretty sure the issue is isolated to WMS, since the LG player reports correct lengths when using Twonky, Tversity and Nero media servers. There has to be something different - perhaps an issue with using the PS3 profile with the LG? I also tried other device settings as well, but the other ones I tried also provided incorrect lengths.

Is there anything else I can capture and provide such as any debug logs, etc?

Thanks.

I am currently using version 0.73.8. When I first reported the issue, I was using 0.73.5.

Interesting. So, do I just need to rebuild the database from scratch, or is there a way to force the file properties to update?

Ok, I couldn't find any easy way to force a rebuild, so I went to all music, pressed CTL+A to select all, then did a load properties from file. That seemed to fix it.

Is there an easier way to force a rebuild? Did I miss something?
