Wild media server (UPnP, DLNA, HTTP)

Is there any option to provide API to access from different platforms and control WMS to play on registered devices?
Ie. I would develop Android app to control what I'm looking on my TV, because I don't want to use TV's interface. First API could just provide listing of all files available and list of all registered devices with ability to call action "Play on #Device#"

You can use applications from PlayMarket (UPnP or DLNA Media Controller). Specifications - http://www.upnp.org
