I have several HD mkvs which transcode to the test file but don't display on the TV. You've said in another post that Sony is very particular to h.264 encoding, I was trying to find out what implementation of h.264 it does understand?

Thanks for the DLNA white paper - unfortunatly it's a bit beyond my limited knowledge :)

Sony Bravia .mkv files

First of all, one of the best products I have ever seen! I've been spending hours and hours to get a connection from my Bravia to the Internet

Well, now it finally works! I have my Bravia connected via LAN to my Vaio laptop, from where I access my media server via WLAN
all movies show up nice and tidy on the TV and most formats work. MKV unforunately not, when I hit play I only get audio but no picture...

In "file types" I have .mkv to the transcoding profile: "Movies - Tsmuxer"

what is the best buffer size to set as some movies sometimes lag... is it even possible to stream 1080p mkv files via WLAN?

regards & thx in advance,
chris

Settings-Transcoder-Profiles-Movies-TsMuxer-mime-type: video/vnd.dlna.mpeg-tts ?
What video parameters in the original file (codec, frame size) ?

all are H264 and as they are 720p: 1280x534/544/or else, frame rate 23.976

i basically read myself thru most posts and applied all the settings... but still don't get a picture... really weird

I think for the Sony frame size should be 1280x720, 1920x1080. Only use the transcoding profile Movies (primary).

i uninstalled the programm and install it again now and applying all the settings again, maybe it works...

so it is not possible to play other formats than 16:9? there is hardly a .mkv file exactly 16:9... also with .avi it works no matter what format
