I have a movie (Disney's Tinkerbel) in Full HD 1080p MKV format. Video-H264 (23,976FPS) ; Audio:AC3 (5.1 surround 48 kHz).
So nothing special really.
WMS is connected to the latest and greatest 2010 Philips LED TV: PFL7605H/12 and embedded file support has been adapted in the profile. This TV supports both formats, is DLNA 1.5 and supports MKV containers.
Problem: While playing the movie stops every 10 seconds or so. It appears that it has to do with the fact it is transcoding. Personally I think it doesn't have to because my TV supports these formats.
Anyway here some settings:
Device:
Transfer data buffer size set to 512 kB
embedded files support set to avi,mkv,mp4,mpeg,mpg,vob,wmv (movies)
mp2,mp3,mp4,wav,wma (Music)
Transcoder settings:
temporary directory 30Gb
transcoding file params mpg
filesize for start transfer 3072 kbyte
transcoding profile: EMPTY (tried MovieTSmux but then screen is black...)
Other then that there's nothing I changed (so I guess the default settings after an install)
Help would be appreciated. My trial expires in 2 weeks, so I need to know whether I should continue using WMS or not.
How to properly setup WMS to prevent stuttering of MKV movie
Re: How to properly setup WMS to prevent stuttering of MKV movie
Issue solved. Transcoder profile cleared (thanks Eugene)
