Hi,

Last couple of days I had a little fun updating to 1.07.2. Because of the new features and possible bug fixes I took the step towards 1.07.2 and then I found myself in a situation where almost every second YouTube video had problems. The symptoms are as follows:

- Choppy picture;
- “Playback not available” on TV (Sony 46Z5500);
- There’s sound but no video;
- A swift splash of a grey screen just before playback starts or fails.

And these are problems with YouTube videos I’ve never had any issues with.
Most of the stuffs are 720 and 1080 HDs and only a very few of them are ordinary videos. That’s why I use “Movies – tsMuxer” transcoding profile for my entire YouTube library along with changing MIME to VIDEO/VND.DLNA.MPEG-TTS. I was quite happy with WMS 1.05.1 and used it with no problems for a long time. All Internet videos came into live on TV no matter what I throw at it. To be honest some of the HDs are still playable but many of them failed to start. Then I switched back to 1.05.1 and problems immediately disappeared. That made me think it was the FFMPEG transcoder which spoiled the show. So I got WMS updated up to 1.07.2 again but this time I replaced FFMPEG-1.DLL with the one from 1.05.1 distribution. And guess what? There are no problems. So maybe there’s something about those last FFMPEG SVNs or the way they are invoked. Now updating is not a straight forward procedure because maintenance utility reports a wrong FFMPEG size. But as long there’s no playback issues this is something I can live with. Also I don’t know for how long it would be possible to go this way.
I almost forgot to tell the TV model. It’s a Sony 46Z5500. I don’t know if anyone else had reported such problems. Maybe they are caused by more than one circumstance so if you have any question I’ll be glad to assist you in debugging.

Regards

Some updates on the subject:

- Choppy picture -> every 5 seconds playback freezes for about 2-3 seconds, then another 5 seconds of live picture and so on (mostly with low resolution FLV items);
- “Playback not available” on TV (Sony 46Z5500);
- There’s sound but no video -> mostly with HDs;
- A swift splash of a grey screen just before playback starts or fails;
- Sometimes there is "Cannot contact the server" error on TV.

In all cases we are talking about podcast items and not local media resources.
Is there any chance to look at these issues?
Regards

If you give a link to problematic resource, I will be able to check.

Hi,
You could try the following links:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTK-ZQR6X9c
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4P-L08WHGhw

In case you are unable to reproduce the problem I'd like to point out that:
- definitely there's a difference in playback from 1.05.1 to 1.07 and equal any other conditions. I haven’t changed anything else but WMS.
- problems are mostly visible with items reported as FLV of type.
